I spent twenty-five years being told I was fine.I wasn't.
It started when I got my first period at ten. By my early teens something was already wrong, and for the next twenty-five years I was told, again and again, that everything looked normal. I didn't understand what was actually happening in my body until I was thirty-eight.
Chronic acne that cleared only when I found the specific foods my immune system had been reacting to for years. Gut dysfunction that ran alongside it for decades. Period pain I managed with strong anti-inflammatories until I learned it had a name. An ADHD diagnosis at 39 that reframed my entire history. Perimenopause before 44 that I identified myself, because nobody else was looking.
